Aaron Rodgers Will Be Back “Baaaaaaacckkkk” to Face Giants

The rest of the season is very simple for the Green Bay Packers. If they lose, they’re finished. They must win their final two games if they want to snag one of two Wild Card spots in the NFC.

Those final two games include the New York Giants in Week 16 and the NFC North champion Chicago Bears in Week 17, so it will be no easy feat with or without Aaron Rodgers.

But, fortunately for them, they should have Rodgers back so they can give it a shot.

According to ESPNMilwaukee.com’s Jason Wilde, Rodgers sent him a text message reading “I’m baaaaaaacckkkk.” So unless Rodgers is stalking Wilde like it’s a 1979 horror flick, I’m guessing that means Rodgers has been cleared by team doctors and an independent physician following his second concussion of the season.

It’s a good thing too, because without Rodgers there’s very little chance the Packers could beat the Giants, who are also fighting for a playoff spot. In fact, the Giants can clinch a Wild Card berth if they beat the Packers, so they’re going to throw everything they have at whomever will be taking the snaps for Green Bay.

Matt Flynn stepped in and played admirably against the New England Patriots, but he’s not ready to lead a team to the playoffs just yet. He showed some grit and might have raised a few eyebrows with quarterback-needy teams, but the Pack need Rodgers if they’re going to make a real push at the playoffs.

Even if they are able to knock off the Giants, there’s nothing the Bears would love more than to end Green Bay’s season at the very end. Not only that, but the Bears will have to keep winning in order to get a first-round bye. If they slip up, the Philadelphia Eagles could swoop in and snatch up the No. 2 seed.

Right now, I’m guessing the Packers aren’t able to beat both of those teams in consecutive weeks and will likely miss out on the playoffs. But, at least with Rodgers at the helm, they have a fighting chance.
