Terrelle Pryor Having a Hard Time Finding Suitors

Terrelle Pryor has had a rough couple of months. He was suspended by the NCAA for receiving improper benefits and the situation continued to grow until he ultimately decided to leave Ohio State. Pryor has since stated that he will enter the NFL’s supplemental draft.

If you listen to Pryor’s agent Drew Rosenhaus, you’d think teams are lining up for Pryor.

“He’s going to be a great NFL quarterback,” Rosenhaus said. “With all the teams that need [quarterbacks], you can’t tell me that people are not going to jump on this young man.”

Rosenhaus went on to add that he believes his client will be a first round pick in the supplemental draft. That claim is not just wishful thinking; it is ludicrous.

The latest NFL team to come forward and state they have no interest in Pryor is the Miami Dolphins. They were initially looked at as a potential fit due to their “Wildcat Offense,” but general manager Jeff Ireland has shot down those rumors.

“You need someone that’s got some savvy to him, for sure,” Ireland said. “Even someone that can come in and pick it up pretty quickly. But I can’t get into descriptive terms about what I’m looking at — you’d pinpoint the guys I’m looking at.

“But yeah, you need someone savvy and experienced, for sure.”

Those comments don’t lead you to a guy like Pryor. While the former Buckeye does have some experience, he is anything but savvy. Pryor is very athletic and has a pretty strong arm. but that is where the compliments end.

He has yet to show any serious skill from under center and he lacks the two most important attributes you want in your signal-caller — accuracy and intelligence. You’d have to search to find someone not named Drew Rosenhaus or Mrs. Pryor who would believe he has a legitimate shot at becoming a star quarterback at the next level.

If Pryor will succeed, he better be willing to move to wide receiver. He just doesn’t have what you want in your quarterback and the worst part is he fails to realize that. Pryor seems consumed by his old high school hype and he still believes he is a top talent.

While Pryor may find his way onto a NFL roster by next season at some position, it won’t be for the Miami Dolphins.
