Plaxico Burress Would Love To Play For Chicago Bears

Free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress will be looking for a team as soon as the NFL Lockout is lifted. Teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Oakland Raiders have been named as possible destinations for Burress, but if he had his choice it seems that the free agent would choose the Chicago Bears.

Burress was on “The Carmen, Jurko & Harry Show” in Chicago and asked if he would consider bringing his services to Chicago.

“Oh, without question, without a doubt,” Burress said. “As a receiver, I have a lot of respect for Jay Cutler. I feel he’s a phenomenal talent. With the right tools put in place … I think he can go all the way to the top.”

Burress has continued to gush about the city of Chicago after fans of the Bears have been interacting with him on Twitter. “It’s just been love,” Burress said. “It’s one of the best cities in the world.”

While Burress would love to join the Bears, it seems unlikely. A report from Neil Hayes of the Chicago Sun-Times claims that the Bears are not keen on Burress.

"As if character concerns, inactivity and his age (he turns 34 next month) weren’t enough, Burress isn’t known for running the precise routes required in coordinator Mike Martz’s offense. In other words, while he might be the type of receiver quarterback Jay Cutler would love to throw to in a sandlot game, he likely wouldn’t fit into Martz’s precision scheme."

Sorry, Plax. It looks like you need to find a new love.
