Denver Broncos Quarterbacks Continue Training Camp Struggles

The Denver Broncos quarterback situation is one of the most intriguing around the league. First it looked like Kyle Orton would be shipped off, while Tim Tebow would take over as the Broncos savior. However, Orton has stayed with the team and now Tebow is competing with Brady Quinn for the second string spot. Quinn has even begun taking a majority of snaps with the second team.

With the way the competition has continued to play out, perhaps the Broncos need to give up on the idea of “winning now” with Orton and just hand over the reigns to Tebow.

In today’s practice when the team was working from their own one-yard line, things could not have gone any worse. Orton threw an interception to Champ Bailey that was returned for a touchdown, Brady Quinn threw a pick six to Syd’ Quan Thompson and Tebow fumbled a snap then was tackled for a safety. Hey, at least Tebow only gave up two points.

What a disaster. Hopefully for Denver, their quarterback situation will improve. If it doesn’t, they need to throw Timmy Terrific into the starting job and put Kyle Orton back on the bench. Tebow does have potential, he just needs the experience to develop. Sitting behind mediocre quarterbacks will not help.
