Houston Texans Still Evaluating Andre Johnson’s Hamstring

The Houston Texans received a scare on Sunday when star wide receiver Andre Johnson went down untouched in obvious pain. Immediately people were speculating how serious the injury could be, but it was a bit of a relief when it was discovered injured his hamstring and not his knee.

Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said that Johnson could miss only a few weeks or a few days; he is not yet sure.

“We’re still in the evaluation process,” Texans coach Gary Kubiak said today. “We’re going to get a couple of different opinions over the next couple of days. Obviously, it’s a big concern going forward. We have to do what’s best for Andre. He’s going to miss some time. Right now, I don’t know if that’s three or four days or a few weeks.

“You don’t replace Andre Johnson,” he added. “Others have to pick it up the way they did Sunday. If he’s going to miss some time, the other players will really have to stick up.”

Kubiak is absolutely correct. You can’t replace a guy like Johnson, Houston better hope that his injury does not keep him out for a significant amount of time.
