LaMarr Woodley is Latest Pittsburgh Steelers LB to Suffer Injury
By Josh Sanchez
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense has been decimated by injury this season. More specifically, the linebackers have been hammered week after week with the news of another lost starter. First it was James Harrison, who is likely out for this week’s rivalry game against the Baltimore Ravens. Then, James Farrior who will also most certainly be out for Sunday. Now, most recently, LaMarr Woodley could be out for awhile.
Beat writer Gerry Dulac says that Woodley’s hamstring injury could keep the star linebacker out for awhile. In fact, Woodley could be out until after the team’s Week 11 bye week.
With Harrison and Woodley out, inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons will once again be forced to start on the outside along with rookie fifth-rounder Chris Carter. It is also being reported that defensive end Brett Keisel could be moved to linebacker or the Steelers could even consider using a traditional 4-3 defense on Sunday.
The Steelers defense will definitely be something to watch during the Ravens game. Luckily for Pittsburgh, Joe Flacco hasn’t shown that he is anymore capable of being a NFL quarterback than Tim Tebow. So depleted defense or not, the defense should be able to hold their own.
