Who has their ice cold beer and nachos ready for tonight’s Pro Bowl? *crickets* Okay, so maybe the Pro Bowl doesn’t receive that much hype, but surely there must be a few people interested in this game, right? *crickets* Fine. So the Pro Bowl is a meaningless game that very few people care about, that doesn’t mean it isn’t entertaining.
The players seem to get hyped for the game and play in a relaxed nature that brings a fun vibe to football that you miss out during the regular season. It is a good time for the players to kick back and enjoy themselves and their teammates.
Rookie players, veteran players, whoever it is, they all seem to enjoy the Pro Bowl, so why don’t the fans?
It’s simple. The game means nothing. Much like the BCS National Championship game, you feel empty at the end and the result leaves you wanting more. The NFL would be best suited to just announce Pro Bowl rosters and not play a game. I understand that the game is a nice idea and a vacation for the players, but business wise it makes no sense.
Why, if you were an owner, would you allow some of your best players to travel to Hawaii and put their health at risk for a pointless exhibition game?
Hopefully this game goes smoothly and no one comes away with a serious injury. I hope it also provides a good highlight or two, because that is all this game is worth. Hey, at the very least you will get to see some extra flair on the field tonight with the Nike Vapor Jet gloves! That is something worth tuning in for a minute to see
