Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has beat New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, in the race that was no competition, to be named NFL MVP. Rodgers received 48 of the 50 possible first-place votes. Brees received the final two votes.

This season, Rodgers led the Packers to a NFL best 15-1 record during the regular season. While the team suffered an early exit in the postseason, there wasn’t a better team during the regular season and Rodgers was the man who led the team to their impressive season.

Rodgers finished the 2011 NFL season with a mind-blowing quarterback rating of 122.5. Rodgers also completed 68.3% of his passes for 4,643 yards. Rodgers added an impressive 45 touchdowns to only 6 interceptions — he added an additional three touchdowns on the ground.

During the season, Rodgers was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month in September, October and November. He also received FedEx Air Player of the Week honors six times during the season. Rodgers threw for at least two touchdowns in thirteen straight weeks, which tied a NFL record.

Rodgers and his teammates can definitely do the “Discount Double-Check” in honor of being named NFL MVP.
