Are The New York Jets Interested In Robert Griffin III?

The Robert Griffin III story is going to be a fun one to follow over the next couple of months, leading up to the 2012 NFL Draft. At this point, there seems to be little concern that Griffin will make it past the second overall pick. All reports are indicating that the Rams will move the pick to the team that gives them the best offer.

Teams like the Cleveland Browns and Washington Redskins have been mentioned as potential favorites to land Griffin, but there is also a reported “mystery team.” Who could that team be?

Well, don’t count out the New York Jets. Per the National Football Authority, the Jets have inquired about the number two pick. They wrote:

"New York Jets also spoke with the Rams about the No. 2 overall pick, but as of now, they weren’t able to devise a package large enough"

That would be interesting. It wasn’t too long ago that we saw the Jets trade up to land Mark Sanchez. Could they really be looking to give up a king’s ransom for another quarterback prospect?

The Jets still have a long way to go if they would like to make a deal. However, you can never count these guys out.
