Could Peyton Manning Make Kansas City Chiefs A Super Bowl Contender?

Well, it’s official. The NFL now has a LeBron James-like free agent to hype up and I’m going to give in and hype this up, too.

It makes the most sense for Peyton to follow in the footsteps of Joe Montanna and end his career with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs give Manning the best chance to win another Super Bowl. They have a roster loaded with talent, that is not reflected in their 2011 record. They have a very solid running game led by Jamal Charles, who is one of the most dynamic open field backs in the NFL and isn’t bad catching passes out of the back field either.

Kansas City also already has a proven number one receiver in Dwayne Bowe and an up-and-coming receiver in Johnathan Baldwin, who can help free up Bowe for the deep routes or take his place when he goes into his anual dip in production that he seems to have. They also have good depth at wideout with Steve Breston in the slot for under neath routes. In addition to the receivers, the Chiefs have on of the better young, dynamic tight ends in the league with Tony Moeaki — who was out for the 2011 season. To compliment Moeaki, the Chiefs have Leonard Pope — a veteran to  help out when needed.

On defense Kansas City has one of the best safeties in the league in Eric Berry. Berry, along with Brandon Flowers and Brandon Carr — if he gets re-signed — make up one of the better secondaries in the NFL. They have a very solid linebacker core lead by Tamba Hali and a good defensive line.

In 2010, they had Matt Cassel leading their team at quarterback and were able to go 10-6, so just imagine what Peyton Manning could do — even at 80%. He could take a 10-6 suprise team to a legitamete Super Bowl contender in a year. Peyton would be a good fit in Kansas City, but where do you feel he will end up?
