The NFL announced today that thirty-two compensatory picks have been handed out for the 2012 NFL Draft. Fifteen teams were lucky enough to qualify for those compensatory selections. All of this seasons compensatory picks will take place between the third and seventh-round.
The NFL Draft rules state that compensatory picks are rewarded to “a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks.” Free agents compensatory value is based on a formula that takes salary, playing time and postseason honors into account.
Here are the 32 compensatory picks determined by the NFL Management Council:
Third-round:
Oakland Raiders — 95th overall
Fourth-round:
Minnesota Vikings — 128th overall
Oakland Raiders — 129th overall
Baltimore Ravens — 130th overall
New York Giants — 131st overall
Green Bay Packers — 132nd overall
Green Bay Packers — 133rd overall
Minnesota Vkings — 134th overall
Dallas Cowboys — 135th overall
Fifth-round:
Oakland Raiders — 168th overall
Baltimore Ravens — 169th overall
Indianapolis Colts — 170th overall
Sixth-round:
New York Jets — 202nd overall
New York Jets — 203rd overall
Cleveland Browns — 204th overall
Cleveland Browns — 205th overall
Indianapolis Colts — 206th overall
Carolina Panthers — 207th overall
Seventh-round:
Pittsburgh Steelers — 240th overall
