Should Unruly NFL Fans Be Required To Take ‘Conduct Exam’ To Return To Games?

The NFL is making an attempt to crack down on unruly fans who prohibit fellow fans from enjoying the atmosphere at a NFL game and negatively influencing the experience of others. Now, the NFL is taking another step that could require fans who were ejected from a game to take an exam in order to have their privilege of attending games restored.

Per a report from Gary Buiso of the New York Post, the NFL will require fans ejected from games to pass an online code of conduct exam before they can return.

Umm?

Per Buiso’s report, the ejected fans would be required to take a four-hour online course that costs $75. To pass the course, fans must answer a series of True of False questions and achieve at least a 70%. Apparently, the program was first used in 2010, at MetLife Stadium and Gillette Stadium.

This presents the question: Should the NFL require fans to pass a test in order to return to games?

My answer is no. If any fan gets too intoxicated and causes disruption during a game, they should receive a ban for the rest of that regular season. If the behavior continues, the fans should just be permanently banned from the stadium. Part of the enjoyment of a NFL game is the atmosphere of being with fellow fans. A few obnoxious drunks can ruin that for everyone.

By having the fans face lifetime bans, they will be forced to think twice before verbally or physically abusing fans from the other teams. Taking a true or false test will do nothing.

So I ask you, the NFL Spin Zone readers and fans, should the NFL require ejected fans to pass a test in order to return or should they simply hand out mandatory suspensions for poor behavior?
