REPORT: Gregg Williams’ Interviews Were ‘Misrepresented’ By NFL

Former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is indefinitely suspended from the NFL, due to his large part in organization and instituting a “bounty” system during his time with the Saints. Now, according to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the NFL could have misrepresented what exactly Williams said during his interviews with the league.

Triplett wrote:

"“[A]ccording to a source close to [former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg] Williams, the NFL has also misrepresented what Williams said in interviews with the league.  According to the source, Williams never admitted a ‘bounty program’ was in place and that the league ‘rephrased his statements to satisfy its needs.’  The source also said Williams never identified any players for their involvement in a pay-for-performance or bounty program.”"

Wow. If there was ever a time for the league to come forward and release every single bit of information they were provided during the investigation, the time is now.

The NFL and Commissioner Goodell have completely damaged the reputations of Williams, Sean Payton and the players involved for the rest of their careers. If there was some misrepresented information and truths that were twisted, the league could be on the wrong end of a big lawsuit.

Many involved deny all of the allegations by the league, so someone is lying. It’s time to find out for sure which side is lying so we can move on from this situation once and for all.
