Greg Little And Mohamed Massaquoi ‘Early Starters’ For Cleveland Browns

While it seems like there could be a little quarterback controversy for the Cleveland Browns, there is no debate about who the team’s starting wide receivers are heading into offseason workouts. Head coach Pat Shurmur told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer that Greg Little and Mohamed Massaquoi are penciled in as the team’s starters.

Little is poised for a breakout season and will likely be the team’s number one wideout, while Massaquoi looks to rebound from a disappointing 2011 and will compete with 2012 fourth-round pick Travis Benjamin for the number two spot. Benjamin is the more dynamic receiver, but Massaquoi does hold the advantage when it comes to experience and knowledge of the offense. With a rookie quarterback, that knowledge will be more valuable than anything.

Will Massaquoi and Little still be the team’s starters on opening day? Anything can happen, but Shurmur is giving the two an early advantage on the depth chart so it is all in their hands.
