Remi Ayodele, It’s Time To Speak Up About Bountygate

The New Orleans Saints have a handful of players and coaches who will be suspended to start the 2012 NFL season, if not the season for it’s entirety. One player, Remi Ayodele, has avoided any punishment from the NFL despite a popular belief in league circles that he is the man who says “show me the money” in the league’s bounty “evidence.”

Ayodele has been strangely quiet throughout the entire situation and it is time for him to speak up. If he is the one who said “show me the money,” then he needs to be a man and take a stand. Afterall, those words are the only bit of evidence, albeit very sketchy evidence, that the NFL has against his teammate Anthony Hargrove that “proves” he lied to investigators.

In the video, the Saints defense was responding to what they thought was a broken leg suffered by Brett Favre. You hear the words, “Show me the money, Bobby,” and the NFL claims it was Hargrove. However, Hargrove wasn’t involved in the hit, so why would he be asking for the money.

You know who was involved in the hit? That’s right, Remi Ayodele.

Ayodele is the one who hit Favre high, while Bobby McCray hit Favre low. That hit is what resulted in Favre’s injury. Notice that Hargrove was not involved?

The folks at ProFootballTalk.com even reached out to Ayodele’s agent,  Jordan Woy, but they were answered by more silence. What does Ayodele have to hide? It is likely that he’s just remaining quiet in hopes of avoiding suspension. Unfortunately, that may cost him some favor in the Saints locker room.

In the end, it’s up to Ayodele to come clean. He can’t remain silent forever. Training camp is closing in and reporters will be hitting him with some hard questions. Whether he comes clean or not, it’s up to him. If he did, in fact, say “show me the money,” then he needs to come out and help his teammates in their case against Dictator Goodell.
