Patriots Tell Rob Gronkowski ‘Summer Of The Gronk’ Is Over
By Josh Sanchez
The New England Patriots are historically a conservative organization who like their players to speak with their play on the field. Luckily for the fans, the Patriots have quite the character on their roster in tight end Rob Gronkowski, who is doing everything you would expect a young, rich athlete to do — but it’s not the “Patriot way.”
This summer, Gronkowski has received a new contract, been on a reality dating show and even posed nude in ESPN’s “The Body” issue. But now, playtime is over for the Gronk.
Per Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe, playtime is over. Gronkowski “has been told by the team that his summer of Gronk, so to speak, is over.”
With the season right around the corner, it is no surprise that the organization would want Gronkowski to slow his roll and start to focus on the upcoming season. Gronk is a major part of the Patriots offense and he needs to be 100% focused going into the year so that he can give everything that the Patriots played for on the field.
While the Summer of Gronk may be over, it sure was fun while it lasted.
