Record: 5-4
Quarterback
After starting the season well, Christian Ponder hasn’t been particularly impressive these past few games. Avoid starting him if you can although he does have a decent matchup against the Lions.
Running Back
Adrian Peterson has shocked us all by playing strong so soon after his ACL injury. At this point he’s a must start. His backup Toby Gerhart was a popular sleeper in preseason but now he’s nothing more than a handcuff and should remain on your bench.
Wide Receiver
With what appears to be a severe ankle injury, Percy Harvin is unlikely to play this week – a pity since the Detroit secondary has been nothing short of atrocious. I won’t rule him out entirely just yet since head coach Leslie Frazier has declared he is “making progress” but I would be surprised to see him suit up and even if he did I wouldn’t expect him to have a huge role. It’s hard to recommend anyone in this wide receiver corps with Michael Jenkins, Jerome Simpson and Devin Aromashodu doing very little so far this year. Avoid starting any Vikings WR if you can.
Tight End
Last week Kyle Rudolph put up a donut against the Seahawks but with Percy Harvin’s injury I think Rudolph will be Christian Ponder’s main target – I project 60-70 yards at least with a good possibility he scores. He’s a low end starter at TE this week.
