New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis has been a key focal point on NFL trade rumors circulating this NFL off season. The Jets are over cap space, and Revis is going to have a lot of interest so he’s a easily movable piece and it makes prefect business sense.

Well it makes sense to all of us except maybe Darrelle Revis who was left ‘speechless.’

“I was speechless; I tweeted it out I was speechless,” Revis told NFL Network’s Andrea Kremer set to air Monday night, via Jane  McManus of ESPN New York. “I was speechless because I didn’t get a phone call. I know it’s a business, just call me, don’t have it lingering out there. I need answers and I’m not getting any.”

It is a business and it’d be purely a business decision for the Jets. Obviously they’d want to keep Revis but it might not be in the cards. There is a certain etiquette to handling the sensitive ego of players, though usually it is the cornerbacks counter parts, wide receivers, who are drama queens.

But since when are we assuming the New York Jets have any kind of business sense or football etiquette?

They made a business decision to bring in Tim Tebow and sell jersies while ignoring football etiquette and forcing their alleged franchise quarterback Mark Sanchez to have to deal with the ensuing circus.

And look how it paid off for them!

“Just the fact that that was put out there instead of contacting your best player on the team. If that’s how you want to do business, then that’s fine,” Revis told NFL Network.

I think it’s more shocking that Revis is shocked by this. How could you not see it coming after witnessing first hand the eloquence in which the 2012 off season was handled.
