There are a lot or rumors gaining steam that the San Francisco 49ers and their army of draft picks might make a run at Darrelle Revis who is apparently on the market and being shopped around. Many say the second best corner, or best possibly, is in the NFC West already, Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks.
Bringing Darrelle Revis to the NFC West would have Revis and Sherman squaring off (kind of, if Brady and Manning can square off so can they) at least twice a season. But despite video proof that shows him walking around Bourbon Street asking random strangers to compare him and Revis, he insists that he isn’t at all concerned with Darrelle Revis. His Twitter beef with him also begs to differ.
Richard Sherman recently joined 710 ESPN in Seattle to talk about the rumors.
“It’d be fun either way. There’s always a rivalry there,” Sherman said, via Sports Radio Interviews. “I still wouldn’t get to play against him directly, so it really wouldn’t matter to me. I’m sure our receivers would have a little fun with him. I don’t mind either way. He’s really irrelevant in my mind.”
Richard Sherman has been known to talk trash, seen confronting Tom Brady after the game and even enticing Trent Williams to hit him in the face after the game. Sherman was asked if he tries to talk trash to gain an edge in games and on Twitter.
“I mean, it’s a little bit of both, you just kind of want to win the game. Whatever it takes to win the game is kind of my mindset. You go in there and if it’s getting them guys in their head … I’m just trying to win the game, whatever it takes.”
At least he’s honest.
