As soon as the free agency period started rumors emerged that Mike Wallace and the Miami Dolphins were negotiating a 5 year contract. Jeff Darlington is confirming that this signing has in fact occured, and Mike Wallace is headed to South Beach.

The deal is supposedly for 5 years worth $65 million allegedly. Of that $30 million will be guaranteed. Mike Wallace is set to turn 27 in August and has a career average of 17.2 yards per catch and 32 touchdowns over 4 seasons. He might be pigeonholed as a straight line deep threat, but it’s been working for him. If he can improve his route running and broaden his arsenal he could succeed in Miami who is looking to become more explosive on the offensive side of the ball.
