LaRon Landry To The Indianapolis Colts or San Francisco 49ers?

One thing is for certain, LaRon Landry seems to be out of that mess that is the New York Jets. But where he goes remains uncertain but the bidding seems to be isolated to two teams: the Indianapolis Colts and the San Francisco 49ers.

Currently reports have Landry at the Colts’ facilities. They’re trying to close the deal and get him to sign a deal but he hasn’t yet. If he leaves the Colts facility, the next team he is visiting is the San Francisco 49ers, and has a visit scheduled with them for Thursday afternoon.

“Ex-Jets S LaRon Landry visiting #coltstoday. Heads to San Fran Thursday. Usually, if you want a guy bad enough, don’t let him go w/o deal,” Mike Chappell, a Colts beat writer, tweeted.

While the San Francisco 49ers might lose safety Dashon Goldson to Tampa Bay in free agency, Landry doesn’t necessarily fit that role. They’d presumably have to release Donte Whitner to make room for Landry and still would need another safety.

Landry has played a little free safety but has spent significantly more time at free safety in his career.

Who knows maybe San Francisco tries to make him work with Whitner in the secondary.
