NFL Draft Wishlist: Miami Dolphins

Miami may be one of the most improved offensive teams this off season, keeping Hartline and signing Mike Wallace and Dustin Keller.  Unfortunately, they lost Sean Smith which leaves them with 0 CBs.  They also badly need some defensive linemen to step in for them next season.  With 3 picks in the first two rounds they’ll be well equipped to bolster their defense in this deep deep defensive line class.

Round 1 – Xavier Rhodes, CB, FSU – The Dolphins desperately need a CB after trading away Vontae Davis and losing Sean Smith in free agency.  They don’t have to look far to find their next physical man cover corner in Florida State’s Xavier Rhodes, who can step in and close space for opposing receivers immediately.  Miami needs this more than anything right now and with two 2nd round picks, they’ll have plenty of opportunities to address their defensive line needs.

Sleeper – Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M – The Dolphins all the sudden have an offense to not to be slept on with the free agent signings of Mike Wallace and Dustin Keller.   Not to mention keeping a solid #2 WR in Brian Hartline.  The Dolphins, for the first time since Dan Marino’s days have the chance of building one of the most powerful pass offenses in the AFC with a good system slot receiver.  Guess who broke college records in this exact Mike Sherman system catching passes from the exact quarterback operating it at Texas A&M?  I’ll give you a hint, he ran the same time as Tavon Austin in the NFL combine and was a top performer at WR in every category.  In the right system, Ryan Swope can be the next Wes Welker and one of (if not the) highest value receiver in this draft, especially if he does in fact go as low as some of the analysts are saying.
