Despite being released from the Denver Broncos, Willis McGahee isn’t ready to hang it up. In fact he already is looking for the next team to play for.
“I will keep playing. I don’t feel like I have to go out there and say what I have left. I know what I can do. I’m not worried about it. Once I get the opportunity, it will be all good,” McGahee told Josina Anderson of ESPN. “There are a lot of places I wouldn’t mind playing. You got Miami, Dallas, Green Bay, San Diego, Oakland. That’s not necessarily my order of preference, though. All of those teams I mentioned I would go to with no problems.”
All of those teams could use a quick solution at running back. Miami lost Reggie Bush to the Detroit Lions. Dallas could use another back to split carries with DeMarco Murray. Oakland could use another back to give Darren McFadden a breather. Green Bay has been trying to fix their running game all offseason and missed out on Steven Jackson but drafted Eddie Lacy. San Diego has 3 backs already in Danny Woodhead, Ryan Matthews, and Ronnie Brown.
The market though might be slow to develop as we’ve seen free agents Michael Turner, Beanie Wells, Brandon Jacobs, and Cedric Benson fail to find homes.
