New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, like you probably already know, is apparently involved in a homicide investigation after allegedly being confirmed as the driver of an SUV that is associated to a murder near his home.

On Thursday Hernandez was driving an SUV once more, this time to Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots.

But why?

A news helicopter followed Hernandez all the way to his place of work, likely hoping we’d see another O.J. Simpson-esque chase after reports came out Hernandez will be arrested. What’s unclear is why Hernandez went to the stadium, as Ian Rapoport of NFL.com says no one of interest besides rookies were present:

"It’s unclear who Aaron Hernandez was visiting or why he was at Gillette Stadium Thursday. NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports via a team source that no coaches are present because of vacation. Owner Robert Kraft and other team executives were also not at Gillette. Players are gone. The only people in the building were a few rookies."

And no, he wasn’t there to clean out his locker, at least according to Rapoport:

We’re sure in due time we will learn exactly why Hernandez made a trip to the stadium when no one was home (or were they?), but for now we’ll just have to wait as this confusing string of events continues to unravel at a snail’s pace.
