Vonta Leach was a somewhat shocking cut for the Baltimore Ravens recently considering he is one of the best full backs in the NFL, but it sounds as if either the Houston Texans or Miami Dolphins will be more than happy to sign the free agent.
Or maybe they’ll fight over him.
According to Adam Beasley of The Miami Hearld the Dolphins and head coach Joe Philbin want a deal done with Leach before the end of the week:
"Talks between NFL teams and Vonta Leach have heated up in recent days, The Miami Herald has learned, and Dolphins coach Joe Philbin is said to want a deal done by the end of the week."
But wait! According to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun via Twitter, the Texans have an open dialogue with Leach and things appear to be heating up:
The interest from the two teams makes perfect sense. Miami was a joke in short-yardage situations last year and the Texans could always use another outstanding lead blocker in front of elite running back Arian Foster.
It’s no surprise a man of Leach’s talents is generating so much interest, even if he does play at a supposedly dying position. Whichever team wins his services is making a very, very underrated signing.
