Bears Legend Mike Ditka Says Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers is the Best

Chicago Bears legend Mike Ditka is known for not holding back when asked a question, which is why it should come as no surprise when he responded to one recently in a way most Bears fans probably would not like.

When asked which quarterback he wished he could have played with, Ditka did not hold back, saying Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is the best. Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk has the quote (which is convienetly tucked behind a pay wall at the Chicago Sun-Times):

"“The guy up in Green Bay, I think is the best in football,” Ditka said of Rodgers. “But that’s my opinion. I like what he does, and I like his leadership qualities. And I think that’s the other thing you have to look at. He has to be the guy in charge. And the team has to know it."

The Spin: Well this is awkward. It’s also correct. There’s not a quarterback in the NFL that can touch Rodgers at this point. It may sting a bit to hear the truth about a rival, but Bears fans cannot really be upset with this one.

Besides, Bears fans know full and well what Rodgers is capable of without him saying anything. That probably does not make it any easier to digest.
