Colin Kaepernick recently received the ire of many for donning a Miami Dolphins hat, but that apparently does not stop the San Francisco 49ers quarterback from being among the hottest names in the game.
Actually, the hottest if you go by jersey sales.
Kaepernick has recently had the hottest selling jersey according to CNBC:
"Kaepernick’s number 7 jersey was the top seller at NFLShop.com from April 1 through June 30, according to the league’s Joanna Hunter. The 25-year old star is also No. 1 at Fanatics.com, said the online retailer’s Meier Raivich."
The Spin: This is not exactly a shocking turn of events. Kaep himself is becoming a brand at this point, especially after the Dolphins hat fiasco.
It also helps he is not the franchise player for one of the NFL’s most prestigious franchises and almost led the team to a Super Bowl last season.
For all the hate Kaep received (he has to realize everyone was just waiting to pounce on a story in the offseason) it sure seems like he’s one of the more popular figures. He’s sold more jerseys as of late than Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Ray Lewis—we could go on, but you get the point.
