This summer at Philadelphia Eagles training camp it has been about the ongoing quarterback competition between Michael Vick, Nick Foles, and rookie Matt Barkley. Many people have said that it is too close to call but it seems like now Michael Vick is starting to starting to separate himself from the pact.
According to CSNPhilly.com’s John Gonzalez, he pointed out that Michael Vick took 34 snaps on Wednesday and 24 of them were with the first team offense. Also Vick threw the ball well as he was 12 of 19 which is a 63 percent completion percentage. On the other hand, Nick Foles did not fare well on Wednesday; instead he only took 13 snaps with the first team offense, 27 in total but went 1o for 17 and threw an interception.
Does this mean that Michael Vick is possibly ahead of Nick Foles in this race? Possibly but Vick needs to string together more consistent days in camp and then put it together in preseason. If Vick does that then I see him becoming the Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback for the 2013-14 season but if he is inconsistent and if Nick Foles picks up his play then Foles will be starting.
This competition is far from over but it seems like it is finally starting to progress.
