You can’t make this stuff up. While Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel continues to impress, the man many thought would be handling the quarterback responsibilities in 2013, veteran Kevin Kolb, can’t even get on a practice field to compete.
Kolb is known for always being injured, but you’re not going to believe the new bar he just set for himself. According to Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News via Twitter, Kolb slipped on a mat walking to practice and had to have his knee checked out:
The Spin: Like we said—you just cannot make this up. Kolb was entering a critical stretch where he needed to prove to the coaching staff he could win games for the team while a rookie sat and learned behind him.
Instead, Kolb is failing to even get to practice now. Manuel was beginning to get a lead for the job before this debacle, but if Kolb misses any more time than Saturday he could have a problem on his hands. It also just looks bad the way he hurt himself.
We’l keep you posted on this ridiculous injury story.
