The Oakland Raiders are creating different packages to include Terrelle Pryor on offense. They are trying to bring in the pistol formation in Oakland and it would allow Pryor to run the offense and use his feet to gain yards on offense.
“The packages we’re talking about have a lot to do with our offense,” Pryor said, via Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area. “We’re still going down the field with the ball. We’re still throwing timing routes. It’s just a package to get me on the field, and run the same plays that Matt Flynn, Tyler Wilson and Matt McGloin are running. It’s the same stuff. It’s just me, that and some pistol stuff. Stuff like that.”
Pryor presents a different threat on offense when he is on the field. He can make plays happen with his feet when the pocket starts to collapse. He can extend plays and allow his receivers more time to get open.
Currently, Pryor looks like he will be the backup to Matt Flynn. Preseason games will be starting up this week and it will be a chance for Pryor to change some minds in Oakland.
