Oakland Raiders 4th round draft pick Tyler Wilson is losing reps in practice to undrafted free agent Matt McGloin. WHO?!? Matt McGloin!!!!

“I’m going to let the competition dictate who’s getting the reps,” said Allen. “I think Matt McGloin has earned the right to get some reps. We brought him in here so we can evaluate and see how he is. He’s earned that right. He’s stepped up, and he’s done some nice things.” – Silver and Black Pride

Tyler Wilson was supposed to come into camp competing for the starting gig, but now he is just hoping that he can make the roster. It would be a waste of a draft pick if the Raiders decide to cut ties with Wilson.

This could be a way for Dennis Allen to see a little bit more of McGloin. If McGloin keeps his steady pace, we could see Wilson in the unemployment line. I am sure some team would take a chance on him though.

In the end, I can’t see the Raiders cutting ties with Wilson. At least not this early in the young player’s career. They scouted him out and chose him in the 4th round of the draft for a reason. They have to at least give him some time to grow on offense.
