Titans S Bernard Pollard is already getting off to a smooth start this preseason with his new team. 5 minutes into his first preseason game of the year, Pollard gets flagged for an unnecessary roughness penalty. Sounds about right.
He hit a Washington Redskins receiver that was on his way out of bounds. Pollard ran up to the receiver, lowered his head and drilled him in the back. There was no need for the hit since the receiver’s momentum was already taking him out of bounds.
15 yard penalty for unnecessary roughness!
He probably will be looking at a fine from the league office very soon too. That sucks to be giving away checks for these hits, especially when they are coming in the preseason. Ridiculous.
The penalty and the fine will not stop Pollard from playing his game. That is the way he will always play football. It won’t stop him. He will always go hard and be borderline dirty. That is why the Tennessee Titans and other team’s have brought him in to play for their teams. It is what fans love about him.
