RB Jamaal Charles figures to be a huge part of the Kansas City Chiefs offense this year. He has that explosive factor. He has the ability to score a touchdown any time he gets the ball in his hands. New head coach Andy Reid figured to get a lot of use of him in the passing game this year.

Today, Kansas City Chiefs fans are holding their breath with news of Charles leaving practice on a cart. Any time a player is unable to leave the field on their own and the cart comes out, there is worry for the worst. There is fear that a player busted their ACL… especially this season. Charles has already blown out his ACL once in his career and missed the entire 2011 season.

The Chiefs don’t have much depth behind Charles. They have rookie 3rd round pick Knile Davis as the next man up. The Chiefs could look in free agency at players like Michael Turner or Willis McGahee, but they have lost that “it” factor a while ago. Andy Reid’s offense was going to depend largely upon Charles  and any other back that they could bring in wouldn’t have that explosive ability that Charles was going to bring to the table.

As soon as we get word on the severity of the injury, we will update this post.
