The San Francisco 49ers were looking for a trade partner to take WR A.J. Jenkins off of their hands. Looks like they found a partner with the Kansas City Chiefs:

It is a swap for a couple of first round wide receivers that have failed to live up to expectations. Both receivers were drafted in the first round, Baldwin was drafted in 2011 and Jenkins was drafted in 2012.

Maybe a change of scenery can help bring life to these player’s careers. Both came out of college with a ton of expectations, but have not had the right opportunity to succeed.

"49ers GM Trent Baalke: “We are pleased to add Jonathan to our team and look forward to incorporating him into our offense.”“Both players have been presented a great opportunity for a new beginning with their respective teams.”"

I guess A.J. Jenkins will get to work with Alex Smith again. He played with Smith in San Francisco and now will see him with the Kansas City Chiefs.

"John Dorsey: ‘Jon Baldwin is a hardworking player and a professional. We wish him nothing but the best moving forward.’"

Here are some college highlights from the two players.
