According to reports, running back Ronnie Hillman is once again practicing with the first team offense. Previously, Monte Ball had been getting the reps due to another poor performance from Hillman in the pre-season. Coach John Fox explained the switch as a “punishment” for Hillman fumbling the ball.

John Fox, the head coach of the Denver Broncos has yet to commit to who will start week 1. When asked on who might be the starter he had this to say.

"I don’t even know yet, so I don’t know how you all know, They’ll both carry a big load for us this season, knock on wood. Whether it’s ‘1A’ and ‘1’ or however you want to list it.”"

With Fox himself is still unsure of who to start, the battle is expected to continue on going into the regular season. Last year, for the Broncos Ronnie Hillman totaled only 330 yards, and two touchdowns.  Monte Ball seems like the best fit for the team, but Ronnie Hillman seems to be grabbing the coaching staffs attention. The entire running back situation is a mess, and it may force the team into using a committee. Knowshon Moreno could even wind up stealing some touches from Hillman and Ball by the seasons end. As of now the Broncos running back battle is the most interesting competition going on in the league right now, and it is only heating up.
