The NFL cut down day to 53 players was Saturday, and there were some big names to lose jobs along with the wealth of other talent set for the free-agency market.

Here are some of the biggest NFL names to lose jobs in the cut to 53.

Tim Tebow, New England Patriots quarterback: No shock here. Tebow is a big name, but a miserable quarterback and the Patriots only wanted to keep two at the spot.

Jonathan Dwyer, Pittsburgh Steelers running back: This is a strange one with rookie Le’Veon Bell hurt, but it makes sense if the coaching staff likes what it has in Baron Batch as a backup.

Vince Young, Green Bay Packers quarterback:  Young played well in the preseason, so it’s a bit of a shock to see him lose his gig this quickly. Is his career over?

Brian Banks, Atlanta Falcons linebacker: Hate to see this heartwarming story come to an end, but Atlanta has to do what is best for the team first.

Lance Ball, Denver Broncos running back: Looks like the Broncos only want to use two running backs in their committee in 2013.

Honorable Mentions: Antoine Winfield, Marvin Austin, Austin Collie
