Buffalo Bills star defensive end Mario Williams can be included among the list of several Bills players who sustained injuries in yesterday’s rivalry loss to the New York Jets, as star running back C.J. Spiller was also injured (he’s expected to play next week against the Baltimore Ravens, though).

According to ESPN NFL Nation’s Mike Rodak, Mario Williams left yesterday’s game with an undisclosed injury after trying to block an extra point, and all we know is that Williams underwent treatment, had X-rays, and was seen sporting a significant limp. His status is completely unclear at this point, but it sounds like this injury could very well keep him out against the Ravens. Williams is a crucial player on the Buffalo Bills defense, as he has been devastating as a pass rusher this year, which makes up for his struggles defending the run. The high-paid DE recently overcame a plantar fasciitis issue (similar to the one star free safety Jairus Byrd is suffering) and recorded a franchise-record 4.5 sacks in a big day against the Carolina Panthers, and that game showed just how dominant he can be.

Williams joins nickel  back Ron Brooks, No. 1 CB Stephon Gilmore, Byrd, Alex Carrington, solid CB Leodis McKelvin, and pass rushing DT Marcell Dareus as key players on the Bills defense suffering from injuries.
