Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finely suffered a concussion last week, and he has been cleared to practice following the Packers bye week, so fantasy owners should be feeling good about Finley’s status. He took a legal, but absolutely brutal, hit from a Cincinnati Bengals safety in the Packers Week 3 loss, and he was bounced out of the game with a concussion. Finley described the concussion in scary detail, and it was a pretty severe concussion that would have kept him out of a Week 4 game. However, the Packers thankfully had a bye week, allowing Finley- and rookie running back Eddie Lacy, who suffered a concussion in Week 2- to heal up.

According to ESPN NFL Nation’s Rob Demovsky, Jermichael Finely has been medically cleared from his concussion and is practicing today. The Packers are also getting fullback John Kuhn and cornerback Jarrett Bush back from hamstring injuries, and the bye week has certainly treated the Packers well as they get ready for this week’s rivalry game against the Detroit Lions.

Jermichael Finley has looked good so far this season with 11 receptions for 121 yards  and two touchdowns, and I would honestly look at his statistics in the scope of two games rather than three. He barely played before being bounced out of the Week 3 contest, and Finley has been an absolute fiend for defenses in the red zone. While he hasn’t been amazing or anything, he has looked solid and is back on track this season; it’s good to hear that his recovery is going well.
