If any fantasy owners had Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown inserted into their starting lineups, then they had better pull him off as quickly as possible. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Marlon Brown is inactive for today’s game against the Cleveland Browns. Brown was limited on his return to Ravens practice on Friday, and the Ravens officially listed him as questionable on the team’s injury report with a hamstring injury.

Early indications were that Brown would be able to start today against the Miami Dolphins, and the Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson actually reported good news regarding Brown’s status for the game against the Dolphins. Sadly, that isn’t the case, and the Ravens will miss the solid rookie wideout out of Georgia.

The issue here is depth. With Brown out, the Ravens only have a few wideouts who are actually healthy for this game, following the release of veteran Brandon Stokely yesterday. Maybe the Ravens shouldn’t have  released Stokely, but I firmly believe that Marlon Brown is a surprise inactive; it seems like they didn’t plan for this happening. Hopefully he didn’t suffer a setback, and I wonder if the Ravens were a little bit too optimistic on his chances of playing. They also might have been too optimistic on Jacoby Jones’s chances of playing, and he won’t be out there either.

It’s just bad news at receiver for Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens, but certainly great news for the opposing Dolphins.
