Martellus Bennett, Charles Tillman game-time decisions

Fantasy owners of Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett will need to keep a close eye on his status leading up to tomorrow night’s game against the New York Giants, as ESPN Chicago’s Jeff Dickerson tweets that Bears head coach Marc Trestman stated both Martellus Bennett and Charles Tillman will be game-time decisions for Thursday night’s easy matchup against the New York Giants.

I would be surprised to see Tillman be absent, because he has soldiered through the past two games with groin and knee injuries, respectively. He was active against the New Orleans Saints, and the Bears star corner should still be active against the Giants.

Meanwhile, Bennett’s status might be a dicier call, but I still expect him to play. He suffered a knee injury against the Saints on Sunday that didn’t seem serious, and he was able to get in a limited practice yesterday after sitting out Monday’s practice. He says he feels fine, but it’s still a good idea to keep an eye on all reports on Bennett if you are a Bears fan or, especially, a fantasy owner of Bennett’s

Even if both key starters miss Thursday’s game, it would still take a miracle for an 0-5 New York Giants team to beat a tough Bears team at Soldier Field. The Giants defense is going to have a really rough day, and the fact that they won’t have a legitimate running game with David Wilson out will be far too much for the Giants passing attack to overcome.
