This was supposed to be a season in which Rex Ryan had to endure and would likely be released at the end of the year. He wasn’t supposed to compete and nobody expected him to have a winning record to this point. He has found ways to win and now “the arrow now points to Rex being back next season”, per Adam Schefter.
I wonder what things would have looked like if he started Mark Sanchez instead of Geno Smith? The season is still far from over and the Jets could go into a tail spin, but at this time, Rex has been able to prove his worth. He has been able to get his rookie QB Geno Smith to lead the team to victory and he has the defense playing strong.
The Jets are currently 3-2 in their division, second to the New England Patriots. They had a big time win against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night and they will be facing off against the winless Pittsburgh Steelers today. They easily could be 4-2 after today. If they lost though… where would that arrow be pointing?
