Jake Locker, Shonn Greene listed questionable

Tennessee Titans starting QB Jake Locker has been practicing all week and was cleared for contact yesterday, so his recovery from a hip (and knee) injury is certainly going well. In fact, Titans beat writer Terry McCormick reports that the Titans have actually listed Locker as questionable on the team’s injury report for this week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. While that is a very generous listing, it does show that Locker is very close to returning.

At this point in time, it looks like Week 9 will be Locker’s date of return. That gives him a whole bye week to rest through before facing the St. Louis Rams, and he should be ready to face the Rams after practicing all week. The difference between Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jake Locker is enormous.

Shonn Greene was able to practice throughout the week as well, and he is expected to make his return this week against the 49ers. Greene hasn’t played since Week 1 due to a knee injury, and his return is a welcome one for the Titans offense. While Greene’s isn’t the greatest No. 2 RB in the world, he’s clearly better than Jackie Battle, and he will hopefully take Battle’s goal-line carries back, too.
