Calvin Johnson, Joique Bell Injury Updates

Detroit Lions superstar WR Calvin Johnson is expected to play with a knee injury, but there are still some minor doubts regarding his playing status despite the fact that he is listed probable on the injury report. Johnson was limited last week en route to just three receptions upon his return, but it sounds like he will be a full go this week; I wouldn’t expect any less, to be honest.
ESPN’s Bob Holtzman reported earlier today that Johnson is unlikely to be limited, and we’ll see what he can do today against the Cincinnati Bengals as a full-go. There are still some creeping doubts that Johnson will be a game-time decision, based on a report from CBS Sports’s Jason La Canfora, but there should be no worries regarding Johnson’s status now.
Lions running back Joique Bell suffered a painful rib injury in last week’s win over the Cleveland Browns, but he can certainly play through this one despite being in “a lot” of pain. The Detroit Free Press’s Dave Birkett reports that Bell is wearing some rib protection, and that was fully expected. It will be interesting to see how much Bell plays today in lieu of the injury, so expect to see a lot of Reggie Bush this afternoon.
