The New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings will face off for what should be an interesting Monday Night Football matchup, as the Giants are searching for their first win of the season while the Vikings have just one win to their credit. They are hoping that Josh Freeman can be their starting quarterback going forward (he will be getting his first start with the Vikings), whereas the Giants are looking for Eli Manning to bounce back against a putrid Vikings secondary bereft of its best player (Harrison Smith is on the short-term injured reserve with a turf toe). Below are the injury reports for both teams.

New York Giants

Out

RB David Wilson (neck)- He’s not expected to play for at least another month.

CB Jayron Hosley (hamstring)

Questionable

RB Brandon Jacobs (hamstring)- Jacobs’s hamstring pull is more severe than once thought, and he was unable to practice yesterday leading some to believe if he suffered a setback. This looks like a game-time decision, and Jacobs’s status is a huge key for the Giants. If he can’t play, then they will need a good game from the ultra raw Michael Cox or the seemingly washed-up Peyton Hillis.

TE Adrien Robinson (foot)

DE Jason Pierre-Paul (illness)- A game-time decision after not practicing on Friday or Saturday, I expect JPP to play through the sickness.

DT Shaun Rogers (knee)- He did not practice yesterday.

S Cooper Taylor (shoulder)

Probable

C David Baas (neck)- It was once feared that Baas could potentially join fellow interior OL starter Chris Snee on the injured reserve list, but he will only miss three games and has been cleared to play Monday.

CB Corey Webster (groin)- He missed the last four games with multiple injuries, and it’s definitely great to have him back.

CB Terrell Thomas (knee)

Minnesota Vikings

Doubtful

CB A.J. Jefferson (ankle)- Injuries to an already subpar secondary are killer, and the Vikings had to sign Jacob Lacey in order to get some depth at CB.

Questionable

WR Rodney Smith (hip)- The UDFA out of Florida State was promoted from the practice squad earlier this week.

LT Matt Kalil (back)- Kalil missed the past two practice sessions with back tightness, and he is a game-time decision but is also tentatively expected to play.

Probable

DT Kevin Williams (knee)

CB Xavier Rhodes (ankle)

RB Adrian Peterson (hamstring)- He didn’t practice on Friday but returned to a limited practice yesterday; there was never any doubt that the superstar would play through this minor hamstring hiccup.

DE Jared Allen (ankle)

K Blair Walsh (left hamstring)

QB Christian Ponder (rib)

TE Rhett Ellison (knee)

WR Jarius Wright (ankle)

C John Sullivan (hand)
