One of this week’s best games will be played at 4:05 p.m. ET tomorrow in San Francisco, as the 49ers and Carolina Panthers are two playoff contenders (well, the former team is a Super Bowl contender for the third straight season) looking to continue to boost their resume. The Panthers are playing the best football that they have played in a long time, causing the hate for Ron Rivera to dissipate. Meanwhile, the 49ers are easily past their hiccups to start the season, have a 6-2 record, and are currently playing better than their bitter rivals in the NFC West, the Seattle Seahawks. Below are the injury reports for both teams.
San Francisco 49ers
Out
WR Quinton Patton (foot)- The 49ers opted not to place the Louisiana Tech rookie on the injured reserve with a broken foot, and he’s still a few weeks from returning to health. However, Patton did shed his walking boot earlier this week, so there is some good news here. He might not even be active on the 53-man roster when he is healthy, because Michael Crabtree and Mario Manningham will be active once Patton returns (Manningham is already active for this week’s game).
Questionable
DE Ray McDonald (biceps)
LB Ahmad Brooks (stinger)
DE Justin Smith (shoulder)
Probable
G Alex Boone (shoulder)
DT Quinton Dial (ankle)
G Mike Iupati (elbow)
RT Anthony Davis (shoulder)
RB Frank Gore (ankle)
WR Kyle Williams (knee)- He practiced fully yesterday.
Carolina Panthers
Out
CB James Dockery (shoulder)- Dockery has a torn shoulder labrum, and the depth corner is set to be out for 2-4 weeks.
G Chris Scott (knee)
Questionable
LB Chase Blackburn (foot)- Blackburn will be a game-time decision today.
