San Francisco 49ers LB Ahmad Brooks was fined today $16k for his hit on Drew Brees over the weekend. I guess you are not able to hit players hard anymore. Brooks didn’t hit Brees in the head or didn’t go near his knees, he just almost decapitated him with the force that he took down Brees with.

The hit was hard, but I don’t see how it should have drawn a fine. That is part of football.
