Detroit Lions strong safety Glover Quin gave this team a major upgrade in the secondary, and he’s been an underrated bright spot for this unit. With six passes defended, 34 tackles, and two interceptions, Quin is having himself a solid season and will continue to play a key role on the Lions defense as they hunt for a playoff spot.

Quin suffered an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he didn’t return. He also didn’t practice yesterday, but what was especially concerning about his absence was the fact that Quin was spotted in a walking boot. That seemed to indicate that Quin’s injury is significant and that he would be out this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (and, worst of all, potentially out for the rivalry showdown with the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving).

But that isn’t the case. According to the Detroit News’s Chris McCosky, Glover Quin returned to practice for the Lions today, so it sounds like the Lions merely put him in a walking boot yesterday as a precaution. He should be a full-go for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers, and the Lions look like a very healthy team at the moment. Everyone is back at practice today, including running back Joique Bell, who missed yesterday’s practice after suffering a foot injury on Sunday.
