Fantasy football owners are always on the lookout for the latest inactive/active news, because a slight lack of diligence could mean a crippling rivalry defeat this week. We have you guys covered, because we are also avid fantasy football players and know just how important it is to have a tidy list of active/inactive players. If you have any specific active/inactive or fantasy questions that we didn’t quite address then please (we mean it) ask us in the comments. Good luck, fantasy owners.
New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley is inactive today, and I hope nobody expected him to be out there.
New York Jets WR Santonio Holmes is indeed active today after being a game-time decision, and CB Antonio Cromartie is also active after being a game-time decision. Cro’s presence doesn’t affect Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace too much, since Cro has struggled this year.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Darrelle Revis is active today, and this was always expected. Since Revis is playing, fantasy owners should avoid starting Steve Smith, who is a great player but isn’t a great fantasy option once you break down his fantasy numbers.
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington is inactive (this is a big one) today, even though the NFL Network’s Albert Breer reported that he would play today barring a setback. Ellington may have suffered a setback, and he injured his knee during Thursday’s practice. He and Bruce Arians were optimistic that he would play, but that wasn’t the case. It’s a tough blow for the Cards and fantasy owners, who may have to look to Rashard Mendenhall for the start.
Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams was never expected to play this week after not practicing at all, and he is indeed inactive. No shocks here.
New England Patriots RB Stevan Ridley is inactive this week as a punishment for his constant fumbles. If you have Shane Vereen, then you obviously have to start him. If you have Brandon Bolden, then you should consider starting him, especially if you were somehow in a position to start Ridley. Even if Ridley were active, the Patriots probably wouldn’t have given him a carry.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Mike Brown is active as the team’s No. 2 WR after being ruled a game-time decision.
No surprises for superstar RBs Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears Matt Forte, as both players are active for today’s head-to-head contest.
As was fully expected, Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez is active today.
The Philadelphia Eagles are making Michael Vick active as the No. 2 QB to Nick Foles, as expected, while naming rookie signal-caller Matt Barkley inactive.
Carolina Panthers RBs Mike Tolbert and Jonathan Stewart are indeed active.
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory is active, lest there was any doubt regarding his status.
DTs Stephen Paea and Jay Ratliff are indeed active today for the Chicago Bears.
