Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wide receiver Vincent Jackson was absent from yesterday’s practice, and most of us simply assumed that the Bucs were giving their No. 1 wideout a well-deserved day of rest. He was listed as a non-participant due to a hamstring injury, but Jackson didn’t suffer a discernible hamstring injury during last week’s loss against the Carolina Panthers. However, it now seems like Jackson is indeed dealing with a hamstring injury, because he isn’t practicing today.

According to the Tampa Bay Times’s Greg Auman, V-Jax is not practicing today due to the hamstring injury, as Auman consents that Jackson’s absence isn’t the result of a simple rest day. I still think we’ll see Jackson out there this week against the Buffalo Bills, but he will most likely have to practice tomorrow in order to play against Buffalo. There is legitimate cause for concern now that Jackson has missed today’s practice, and his status should be watched closely heading into gameday. Even though it’s early, Jackson sounds like a game-time decision this week, but I am still optimistic that the star receiver plays.

There is no mystery surrounding star CB Darrelle Revis’s status for the Bills game, even though he has suffered injuries that have caused him to miss the rest of the game in each of the past two weeks. Revis suffered a shoulder or chest injury against the Panthers on Sunday, but it wasn’t serious. Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano stated that following the game, and the fact that Revis was able to practice yesterday already made him a near-lock to play this week.

With ESPN NFL Nation’s Pat Yasinskas reporting, that Revis is back at practice today and “appears to be fine” (you know, for good measure), he is a lock to play this week barring a highly unlikely setback. Bills receiver Stevie Johnson always seemed to have his number in their AFC East battle, so it will be fun to watch these two go at it again.
