Rashad Jennings Injury: Oakland Raiders RB still hasn’t been cleared
Oakland Raiders running back Rashad Jennings (27) runs with the ball against the Dallas Cowboys during a NFL football game on Thanksgiving at AT
Although Rashad Jennings has been limited at practice all week, the Oakland Raiders have yet to fully clear him from the concussion he suffered on Thanksgiving. According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Vic Tafur, Jennings hasn’t been able to pass through the Raiders concussion tests, and the team has already ruled out Darren McFadden for tomorrow’s game against the New York Jets.
That means the Raiders could be in a very bad spot at running back if Jennings is unable to be cleared prior to kick-off tomorrow, and it goes beyond having to go with the No. 3 RB; the Jets probably have the best run defense in the league. If Jennings can’t play and Taiwan Jones can’t make something happen with his speed, then Matt McGloin will definitely have his work cut out for him.
Since Jennings was able to practice on a limited basis everyday this week, there is still some hope that he can play tomorrow, especially since he is on a long week of rest. Keep a close eye out on Jennings’s status, but he seems unlikely to play. If you own Jennings in a fantasy league, then you need to place him on the bench until positive information comes out and sign an RB in free agency as insurance. Rashad Jennings is likely a player to avoid entirely in fantasy leagues this week, because he is injured and going up against an excellent Jets defense. Even if he does play, he could be limited in effectiveness and will find it difficult to scrounge yardage against the likes of Damon Harrison and Muhammad Wilkerson.
